ABOUT
Alia Grinvalds is an emerging, artist based in Sydney, Gadigal.
She is interested in vibrant colour and abstraction with a foundation in landscape painting, working predominately with oil on canvas. She also explores materiality and installation, using painted, transparent surfaces that interplay with light and shadow.
Conceptually, Alia explores ideas like liminality - representing in-between spaces of ambiguity, finding the mid-point between abstraction and representation.
She is a National Art School alumni and a freelance photographer which informs her art practise.
